Parent's Newsletter March 2009 :: Posted 04-03-2009

Dear Everyone,

There is a lot of hard work going on this term!

The 2009 GCSE students are making good progress with their pieces. Because there are four groups this year, we are concerned that there may not be room for everyone to fit into the Hut to watch the performances on Sunday May 3rd. We are therefore going to have a second showing which is primarily for members of the club and their families. This will be on Thursday May 7th from 6.30 – 8.00 (instead of drama lessons that evening) Please could the 2010 GCSE group come to the Thursday performance rather than the Sunday one which is primarily for the candidates and their families. We also hope the 6.00 class (especially the year 8s) will come to the Thursday showing.

It is a hard year for the 2010 GCSE students who have to battle away with a lot of coursework. You have completed half of it. Keep at it! You are working very well. Next year will be easier and more creative with a performance at the end.

Class 1 have made an excellent start on the pantomime ‘Jack and the Bonetalk’. The dates are Monday June 29th – Thursday July 2nd inclusive. We are still waiting to hear which day we have been allotted. When we know, we will start dealing with performance licenses etc.

‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ - Tuesday April 14th.
The following people have booked and paid for this trip:
Louise and Robert Camplin.
Suzannah Platt
Raffe and Evie
Patsy and Megan Ingold
Summer and Aaron
Sandra, Adam and Matthew Sutton
Christine and Harry Rees Oliver and James Handley
Ned and Eleanor Watkinson
Will and Ed Everson
Jack and Louise Stevens
Mitch Young
Matilda and Jack Hayden
Fiona Mackenzie
Bertie Gerrish Phoebe Thomas Weeks
Wilf Berry Roman Hadley

We have 2 tickets left (cost £13.50 each) if there is anyone else who would like to come?

The bus will pick up at 1.05pm in the Edgar Sewter lay-by in Halesworth. The performance starts at 2.30pm and ends at 4.30pm so I would anticipate getting back to Halesworth about 5.15pm.
