Dear Everyone,
Welcome to the Autumn Term!
As I am sure you are all aware, rehearsals have begun for ‘The Crainies’ which we will be performing at The Cut, Halesworth, on March 7th and 8th 2008, so please keep that week free!
You should all have received a letter about times and dates for Thursday evenings. If you mislay letters they are all available on our new-look website which also has pictures of summer camp and up to date news of anything to do with the club. Do check it out.
Summer Camp
We were lucky to have glorious weather for summer camp. It meant that we could go to the beach both days. We also went in a bus to Aldeburgh to see Jill Freud’s theatre company perform ‘One for the Pot’ which was funny and well acted.
Widget came and taught the workshops again and the children performed a brilliant version of ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ to their parents when they came to collect them. The three students, Megan Ingold, Amber Roy and Maia Rollo ran a very successful party on the last night with a theme of ‘nautical’ (we had to explain that this had nothing to do with being naughty!) As usual Mary regaled us with a delicious array of food and lots of new tastes for some children which had a very positive response although I think that sticky toffee pudding is still the all time favourite!
GCSE results
The GCSE drama results reached an unprecedented ‘first’ this year with all 9 students gaining Grade ‘A’s. This is an enormous achievement and reflects the very hard work put in by the students, their ability to work together to raise the overall standard and the level of support given by the parents at all stages of the course. Congratulations to everyone!

Drawings for posters
We would be very pleased to have any black and white drawings for posters for the show. They can be a simple picture of one thing. The more definite and un-fussy the drawing the more effective it is for a poster. If you want to do more detailed drawings they will probably be suitable for the programme. Take a sketch pad with you if you have to wait for the dentist for example, and see what you can come up with!
Fees
This term’s fees are £22.00 class fees (only 2 members of any one family pay). These fees are due by half term, after which we operate a penalty fee of £2.00 per child. Please make cheques out to LCDC. Thank you.
Let’s hope we all have an enjoyable term’s drama! Louise and all.
