Summer Camp
It was glorious weather for summer camp which everyone enjoyed. It meant that bathing was popular on Sunday morning and some of the older children also managed to fit in a swim between the theatre trip and supper on the Saturday evening. We went in a bus to Aldeburgh to see Jill Freud’s theatre company perform ‘One for the Pot’ which was funny and well acted.
Widget came and taught the workshops again and the children performed their version of ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ in 15 minutes to an appreciative audience of parents who had come to collect their offspring on the Monday morning. We were very pleased to welcome Jess Waring to help Widget and also the three students, Megan Ingold, Amber Roy and Maia Rollo who helped Mary and Louise and ran a very successful party on the last night with a theme of ‘nautical’ (we had to explain that this had nothing to do with being naughty!) Jess, Widget and the students managed to get to the cliff top and catch the shooting stars over the sea on the last evening which was a bonus.
As usual Mary regaled us with a delicious array of food and lots of new tastes for some children which had a very positive response although I think that sticky toffee pudding is the all time favourite!
Thank you to everyone who put in their time to help make the camp so enjoyable.
GCSE results
The GCSE drama results reached an unprecedented ‘first’ this year with all 9 students gaining Grade ‘A’s. This is an enormous achievement and reflects the very hard work put in by the students, their ability to work together to raise the overall standard and the level of support given by the parents as well as Louise at all stages of the course. Congratulations to everyone!
