GCSE 2007
On Monday May 7th, this year’s candidates for the GCSE drama exam will be performing their examination pieces in Huntingfield Hut at 7.00pm as a dress rehearsal for the exam the following day. Everyone is most welcome to come. Admission is free. There are three groups and each piece lasts about 15minutes so it should be finished about 8.00pm.
The candidates have written their own scripts, please come along and support them.

SCHOOLS STORY CYCLE. YEARS 6 AND 7.
This will take place at the Wolsey Theatre from June 26th – 29th. The theme this year is ‘Abolition’, to tie in with the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade. Three Suffolk schools perform each evening and performers have the chance of a professional technical rehearsal at the Wolsey on the afternoon of their performance. It involves a bus trip and half a day’s absence from school.
I have entered class 3 (years 6 and 7) this year and as we are very short of time, will be rehearsing hard as soon as classes start.
On Thursday May 24th, Lynn Whitehead from the Wolsey will come to drama club and teach class 3 at their usual time and talk to them about performing at the Wolsey
On Sunday June 3rd there will be an extra rehearsal from 5.00pm – 7.00pm for class 3 in Huntingfield in preparation for this event.

CAMP
There is one boy’s place left for drama camp this summer (August 10th – 13th). If you are interested please let us know.

WEB SITE
The drama club web site has been overhauled and is now being run by Jack Small (Henrietta’s brother who was a member of the drama club himself). It will be regularly updated and parents’ letters will always be added to the site as soon as they are available. Jack would be pleased to have any feedback and information, so log on and see what is new!

WEBSHOP
We would like to draw your attention to www.buy.at/lcdc . This is an opportunity to shop on line and raise money for the club at the same time. Over 100 retailers are available through the webshop, including Littlewoods, Marks and Spencer, John Lewis, RAC, Viking stationers, Ethical Superstore (committed to delivering your favourite fairtrade and ethical brands to your door) etc. Why don’t you check it out?

Louise
