GCSE Exam Letter. Feb. 2007 :: Posted 01-02-2007

We are into the last leg of the GCSE exam and extra rehearsals now. We have written to Bungay High School for permission for pupils to miss school on the morning of Tuesday May 8th. They must also inform their form tutors. Please could Josh ask for leave of absence from Hartismere.

Thank you very much indeed for supporting your children through the exam. They will need additional support in the final run up to the performances. Some feedback from home (discussion about their characters/pictures of the period(s)) would help them ‘engage’ with their roles and gain a depth of response in terms of language and style. All scripts should be learned now. It is very useful if parents/older siblings help with this.

LIGHTING: We are very much hoping that Steve Berry will kindly do this. Fantastic if he can and it should definitely speed up the tech rehearsal! We will need a parent to collect the lights from Stradbroke on Friday May 4th please and bring them to the Hut on Saturday 5th.

COSTUMES: Suzannah will come to the Hut and help you with your costumes on Thursday March 29th.
Please come to class from 5.45 – 9.00 that evening (bring a snack as it will be a long session)
This will follow your discussions on the phone with Suzannah about your costume.
Bring anything you are using from home including shoes etc. Suzannah and I want to see your COMPLETED costume that evening please.

GET IN : Saturday May 5th. 9.00am-10.30am, We will need parental help to black out the hut and set up lights please. This will be followed immediately and ASAP by the tech.

TECH: . Saturday May 5th 10.30am-2.30pm.Technical rehearsal in costume. Bring lunch.

DRESS REHEARSAL : Sunday May 6th. 9.45am-2.00pm

PERFORMANCE : Monday May 7th 7.00pm-8.30pm. Everyone very welcome. No charge.

EXAM : Tuesday May 8th . First exam at 10.15am. Everyone to be there at 9.00am please.
After the exam we will need parental help to strike the set and lights and clear up and return
the lights to Stradbroke please.

MONEY. Edexcel Fee
This is the examination fee for the Edexcel board. Stradbroke High School (our examination centre) will let me know how much this is nearer the time and I will notify you then. Last
year it was £22.00.

PARENTS. Everyone is busy and everyone works. Please could you look at the jobs below and depending on
your work and other commitments offer help with the following:-
1) Fetching the lights on Friday 4th May
2) Returning the lights on Tuesday 8th May
3) Blacking out the hall on Saturday 5th May
4) Clearing up on Tuesday 8th May
